I love a worth romance. I even like a narrow-minded tragedy in the mix. Personally I muse over it adds a little realism to the detective story. So I fully expected to love “PS. I Love You”. You have a pitiable story of a young woman who loses her conserve and has to rebuild her life and move on. Then you add in the accomplishment that he is sending her messages from the great beyond (not at creepy as it sounds) to purloin her along her way and it sounds like a good representation for a romance junky like myself.
That was far from the trunk. I will admit that I did watch this large screen when I wasn’t the most awake but even first thing in the morning wouldn’t have changed the in truth that the story seemed to drag on and the acting seemed calculated and this is from award winning actresses. Look I am not the biggest Hilary Swank fan but when you win an Oscar twice people envision you to be good and when you come off one of the biggest idiot box shows of our lifetime, Friends, people envisage your characters to make sense. Yet both Swank and Lisa Kudrow were a smidgen lost in this movie. Kudrow’s goodness, Denise, is searching for someone but instead of getting to remember any of the men she approaches she ask them these series of questions and one vile answer leads to her just walking away. In the long run she finds someone who answers correctly and condign kisses him and then you don’t see him again but like a minute later they are getting married. But at least she has a intend.
Swank’s character, Holly, runs around following these instructions that her current husband has left her and most are really foolish just because she promised a tape that she would. She has to love interest Harry Connick Jr. and Jeffrey Dean Morgan from “Bloodless’s Anatomy” fame but she doesn’t in point of fact have chemistry with either. The only character that makes sagacity is her mom plays by Kathy Bates. She seems the only grounded personally within this whole thing.
