friday. friday! a attractive fantastic meeting of chaos and violence. absurd. amazing. weepy. drunken goodness. a series of moments that i have a yen for to stitch together and carry with me in my pocket always.
i have seen the toadies depict (in order) in newport news, va; philadelphia; richmond; washington, d.c.; san antonio. and spotless mother of god. their show on friday night earnestly blew my mind. i sweated through my clothes, i knew every chat, i closed my eyes and remembered every tribute from every event during which their music played, i even desquamate a few salty tears during "doll fleece". every single time i see them, every single just the same from time to time i hear the first chord of one of their songs remain, my skin crawls (in a good way), my determination actually lights up, i feel like i've come up home after being gone forever. they have never, ever, let me down.
my twist nathan and i burned into san antonio like a climb listening to helmet and fugazi and hip hop. we hit the time's lamest (to date) bar and started throwing it back. by the space the band started, i didn't have a distinguish drop to drink. i also didn't use the bathroom. i sweated beer and accent and anxiety and anger from every pore. it was closely what i needed after a really ugly week. i tolerated intense and inappropriate mosh pits, i pseudo i wasn't in san antonio, i just let go in a way i infrequently do. it was important.
we left the show drenched and arid and exhausted and disgusting. we got to our hostesses lineage for the evening and let her little dogs lick the spiciness off of our faces. our eardrums were so destroyed i conceive of we spent a good 30 minutes screaming at her and then crashed in our separate beds to collapse into what for me was a dreamless siesta. i was home by 10:30 a.m.
the rest of the weekend was beautiful much a hailstorm of house hell. but it's almost done. photos are tomorrow. to supermarket, to market, this thursday. then it's out of my hands. my bloody, blistered, mangled, destroyed...
